Virtual Event

Happy family hugging in therapy session

Join Clinical Director Arlene Martinez for a half-hour virtual tour of our residential program for ages 7–11 in Southern California, followed by a 1-hour CE webinar on Newport’s foundational family therapy modality.

This presentation covers the theory and practice of Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), an empirically validated model for preventing youth depression and suicide through a family systems perspective. We will review the efficacy of family therapy through exploration of attachment narratives and attachment rupture, as well as emotion coaching.

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the clinical model of ABFT
  • Discuss how to guide the parallel process during treatment between parents and child
  • Explain how attachment theory informs treatment processes
