Holiday Stress and Seasonal Anxiety: A Winter Wellness Primer

Virtual Event

November 6, 2025 @ 9:00 am 10:00 am PST

This webinar is part of Newport Healthcare’s Unpacking Anxiety series; find out more and register for upcoming events.

The holiday season can bring joy, connection, and celebration, but it also amplifies stressors that impact mental health. Heightened financial pressures, family conflict, grief, loneliness, and seasonal changes can all contribute to anxiety and emotional overwhelm during this time of year.

This presentation will explore both the positive and negative aspects of the holiday season, emphasizing how clinicians can recognize and address anxiety that surfaces in individuals, families, and communities. Participants will learn evidence-based strategies for supporting clients, managing crises, and fostering resilience throughout the holiday season.

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Develop strategies for managing mental health emergencies that may arise during the holiday season, including anxiety crises and other urgent concerns
  • Identify common holiday-related stressors (financial, relational, seasonal, and cultural) and explain their role in increasing anxiety and other mental health challenges
  • Discuss and apply evidence-based skills and interventions to support the well-being of individuals, families, and themselves during periods of heightened holiday stress and anxiety
