Our History
In 2008, Newport Academy, the initial division of Newport Healthcare, was founded by Jamison Monroe Jr. and his father, who set out to build a comprehensive treatment alternative to rehabilitation. With an approach based on addressing the “why,” not just the “what,” Newport Healthcare’s programs focus on the underlying causes of destructive behaviors, not just the symptoms.
Since its beginnings as a teen treatment program in California, Newport has expanded across the country and expanded the ages we serve through our Newport Institute programs. We now serve clients from age 7 up to age 35, in residential programs and outpatient programs nationwide. Our PrairieCare division in Minnesota provides a full continuum of care for all ages, including an inpatient psychiatric hospital for ages 35 and younger.
Today, Newport Healthcare is empowering tens of thousands of children, teens, young adults, and their families through comprehensive treatment programs that achieve unparalleled outcomes.
