Newport Healthcare, a national network of evidence-based mental health treatment programs, has announced a new in-network participation agreement with Eden Prairie, Minnesota–based Optum Health, a division of UnitedHealth Group, expanding access to mental health treatment across Minnesota.
“Newport Healthcare strives to make our services more accessible and affordable for people struggling with mental health issues, particularly during this national crisis,” said Joe Procopio, Chief Executive Officer for Newport Healthcare. “We are honored to provide high-quality, results-driven mental health treatment to Optum’s members, and look forward to helping more individuals and families access life-saving care through this partnership.”
With locations across 11 states, Newport combines a unique family-systems approach with individualized, integrated care that encompasses clinical therapy, academic or career support, and experiential practices to address primary mental health issues including anxiety, depression, and trauma. Newport’s full continuum of care includes psychiatric inpatient care, residential programs, partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), and intensive outpatient programs (IOPs).
This contract extends to UnitedHealthcare, Medica, and other direct payers. It also covers Newport’s PrairieCare programs in Minnesota, extending current contracts and adding the residential treatment facility, enhancing Optum’s current network with an additional 88 beds for adolescents and young adults.
