This webinar will explore the potential benefits and challenges of AI use for children, adolescents, caregivers, and family systems. Clinicians will learn signs that indicate tech use is disrupting family functioning, and gain strategies to help caregivers rebuild connection and communication with their children.

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Implement interventions to support caregivers in strengthening connection, emotional presence, and communication with their children in a technology-influenced environment
  • Recognize common ways artificial intelligence (AI) and digital tools are affecting family relationships, communication, and daily functioning
  • Identify typical concerns families bring to therapy related to AI and technology use, including screen time, emotional reliance on technology, and parent-child conflict

Newport’s National Director of Family Therapy Services, Samantha is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked with a family systems perspective to treatment throughout her career. She oversees the use of Attachment-Based Family Therapy as an essential part of Newport’s family programming. Prior to joining the Newport team, Samantha worked extensively with the LGBTQIA+ community, supporting individuals struggling with issues regarding gender and sexuality. She also specializes in treating trauma, including sexual and physical abuse.
