Are the Boys Alright? Supporting Your Young Male Clients
June 18, 2025 @ 9:00 am – 10:00 am PDT

This webinar is part of our Summer Tour: Unplugged series. To see all the events in the lineup, visit newporthealthcare.com/summer-tour.
Learn how to help your young male clients get unstuck, get healthy, and thrive. This workshop focuses on the unique presentation of boys and young men when they are suffering, and how clinicians and parents can engage them in conversation and treatment.
For young men, depression and anxiety often manifest in patterns of avoidance, withdrawal from school and social life, and displays of anger and aggression. What can appear to parents as poor or “bad” behaviors are often the telltale signs of severe distress. Our culture still stigmatizes mental health conditions in boys and men, which makes it more difficult for them to ask for help, or even realize they are depressed or anxious.
After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe and apply three strategies for engaging boys and young men in the process of assessment and treatment
- Discuss the rates of depression, anxiety, and substance use in boys and young men
- Identify atypical presentations of depression and anxiety in young males
CE credits available for psychologists*, therapists*, counselors*, and social workers*. Please email event.support@newporthealthcare.com for continuing education details. *Dependent on location.
